Documents:

Passport: a valid passport will be required when you arrive in Egypt.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your arrival

 
VISA:
To acquire your VISA: You may request a visa from the Egyptian consulate closest to you before departure.

It is also possible to acquire your VISA upon arrival at the airport in Egypt.
If you choose this option your VISA will cost 15 American Dollars or 22 euros.

With three weeks notice you can acquire your VISA from CTS or ISIC.
Contact the office closest to you for complete information.

 
How do I get to Luxor?
It is possible to fly directly to Luxor from various European cities.
There are also numerous charter flights from Europe to Egypt, check with your travel agent or contact the airlines directly for complete information on these flights.

From Cairo:
There are two principle options: the most economic option is by rail.
Every night there are two trains that depart from Cairo for Luxor.
A round trip first class ticket costs about 40 dollars for one adult.
If you have an international student card there is a 50% discount.
The journey is about nine hours long but these are modern French trains, they are clean and comfortable!

If you prefer to fly a round trip ticket from Cairo costs about 250 dollars, the flight is about one hour.

From The Red Sea:
If you will be vacationing on the Red Sea before arriving in Luxor there is bus service from Hurghada to Luxor.
The journey is about four hours long and a round trip ticket costs 15 dollars.
The buses are modern, clean and comfortable.

Charter flights to Hurghada are organized by a number of tour operators which can be found on line or through your travel agent.

 
 
Students:
If you are a student and you hold a valid CTS or ISIC international student card you will be eligible for discounts of 50% on transport and entry fees for all museums and monuments.
There may also be discounts for food and accommodations.

You can acquire this card in any CTS or ISIC center before you travel or you can get it when you arrive in Luxor. If you choose this option you will need to present documentation from your school that verifies your status as a student.

 
Where is the school and how do I get there?
The school building is inside the Franciscan School on Karnak street in the city center.
It is very easy to find.

If you would like we can organize transport from the airport or train station to the school.
Contact us in advance via e-mail with your travel schedule and we will pick you up.
Service from the airport costs 15 euros and from the train station 3 euros.
If you will be arriving on the bus the station is only about 1 minute from the school on foot!
