The new Ahlan Arabic Centre is situated in the heart of ancient Islamic Cairo. The vibrant area of Khan El Kalili is just a short walk away and offers an immediate introduction to Egyptian culture with its souks, coffee houses and restaurants.
We are very proud of our new centre. A recently renovated 400-year-old building, it has six air-conditioned class rooms, a reception area offering free tea and coffee and contains a library. We provide a warm and friendly welcome to all our students who are encouraged to immerse themselves in the Arabic language and Egypt’s rich culture and history. Our cultural programme offers excursions to historic sites, museums and desert oases as well as seminars on different topics.
We encourage our students to take part in community literacy projects that operate from the building under the auspices of FEDA, an Egyptian non-governmental organization http://www.fedaeg.com This provides an excellent opportunity to speak Arabic with local people.
Ahlan Arabic Centre offers a unique learning experience. We teach Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic and introduce our students to Egypt’s rich culture and history.
